s1913_7 *********************** Mountaineering Skirt, 1913 *********************** This pattern goes with s1913_6 to make a hiking combination 73 right side part 74 front part 75 right side part 76 back part 77 pocket flap 78 pocket Fabric: 2.25 m of loden, 110 wide. Extend parts 73 to 76 as shown in the pattern overview. Where there are angles in the seams, the measurements are only for angle-to-hem, not waist-to-hem. Mind the buttoning portion of part 74 which is not in the fullsize pattern, so I couldn't include exact measurements. Same goes for the button flap on part 75. The instructions say to sew it onto 75, but you could just as well cut 75 and the flap in one piece. Each part is cut only once! Add 6 cm allowance at the hem. First sew the pocket to #75, and the pocket flap (of two layers of fabric) on top. Line #73 and #74 with strong interlining where they button at the bottom ;) and the same for #76 at the top. #73 and #75 will get buttons, #74 and #76 buttonholes. Close the seams, placing the back and front part onto the side parts along the narrower inner lines of the patterns (2 cm inwards from the edge in most places). Neaten edges with tape, turn a wide hem, and set a waistband onto the upper edge, again along the narrow line. ------ Made for Manuela as part of the Pattern Exchange ------ brought to you by La Couturière Parisienne (webmistress @marquise.de) http://www.marquise.de Copyright 2001 by A.
