The insertion is magenta. 525 @ 90 cm plus 25 @ 90 for insertion. Close shoulder darts on and small waist darts (taking in 1 cm of fabric each) on front parts. Make edged buttonholes. Join back and side back. Close shoulder and side seams, leaving left side seam open between arrow markings. Make snap closure there. Sew belt into both side seams at * markings (just below waistline). Neaten front edges and neckline with bias tape, including collar in seam. Sew front skirt part to inside of side seam between arrow marks. Above, to front part only. Below, leave loose. Sew on buttons. Gather hidden edges of insertion (30) a couple of times to 34 cm length. Secure and neaten edges with tape. Set in following number marks, fix left side with snaps. Make up sleeve and gather sleeve head along |- - - -| marks, set in so that sleeve seam and side seam meet. Variation for afternoon dress: Cut skirt 28 cm shorter.
